Each day one child is the “Helping Hand”. This person is selected by rotating through the enrollment list and he/she assists teachers with particular tasks. For example; ringing the bell to announce a transition from one routine to another, usually to end outside play, and handing out soap for hand washing.
Daily schedule:
7:30 – 9:00 am
Children and their families are greeted as they arrive
Children put their coats in their cubbies, change shoes if necessary & wash hands
Child-led activities/free play
Science/art activity is set up (teacher-guided)

Wash hands for Open Snack (option if the child wants to attend or not)

Gather for circle time, then split into two small circles (1 circle is for children heading to Kindergarten and 1 circle is for the remaining children)
Music and movement, songs, games, stories (books, feltboard, oral)

All children use bathroom & change diapers
