I am one of the early childhood educators at Sunset Daycare. I graduated from Langara College in 2014 and then completed my Post Basic Special Needs certification. I chose this field because I enjoy working with children — I find helping them learn and grow throughout their time at daycare to be very rewarding. I enjoy my work very much and would love to meet everyone that comes through our doors.

I have been working at Sunset Daycare since 2006 and have enjoyed it very much. I completed my ECE at Langara College in August 2004 and returned to finish my Post Basic Diploma. I chose this career because I have a great time interacting with children. If you see me, please come up and say hi, and feel free to ask any questions you may have. My interests are reading, going on walks and spending time with my family.

I was born in Johannesburg, South Africa and immigrated to Canada when I was five. I graduated from Kwantlen College’s Early Childhood Programme in 1991, substituted at a few daycares, and was hired at Sunset in October 1992. I have been here all this time because I am truly passionate about working with young children — and because I get to work alongside staff who share my philosophy, in a programme really geared towards the growth of the child. Outside of daycare I play softball, travel, and spend time with family and friends.

I am the cook at Sunset Daycare. I love preparing healthy, delicious meals that help children grow, learn and enjoy their day. Before becoming a cook I worked as an Early Childhood Educator for twelve years, and my experience in the classroom helped me develop a deep understanding of children’s needs and the important role nutrition plays in their development. When I am not in the kitchen I enjoy collecting recipes from different cultures, reading, and spending time with my family.

I have been in the ECE field for about ten years and I am very lucky to do what I do — it is a rewarding and enriching job. I completed the programme at Langara College and went on to finish my post basic. I come from a big family, which includes a wonderful little dog we adopted who always keeps us smiling. One thing you will get to know about me is that I am an avid sports fan: hockey and football, the Canucks, the BC Lions. I am always ready to talk sports, so please come by and say hi.

I was born in Squamish and grew up in Prince George with my sister, mum and dad. I moved to Vancouver in 1987 to go to UBC, where I completed a Science degree in Biology and an Education degree in Primary. I finished my ECE at Kwantlen in 1994 and have been at Sunset ever since. I enjoy hiking, playing softball, watching movies, hanging out with friends and travelling — Canada, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and much of Western Europe.
